Even at the level at which time seemed to be for the purpose separation or the loss of conscious union with God, everything was still unified, since nothing can exist outside of unity. Joining the ego was an option, and it paid off with dark and sad fruit. What else could have been generated in a union like that? Joining the ego was a joining with something that was not the truth of your nature, but nevertheless, you united with it and you fathered a child. |
