If when you join something you disappear as a unique being, it will feel very similar to the death of your being, if that were possible. Mass movements or large organizations in the world are examples, where the "I" is lost and given up to the sum of the parties. It is even sometimes considered an ideal for the "major" to replace the insignificant little self. |
