| BkVI:16.IV.17 | You used to be guided by what you considered good or bad, desirable or undesirable, valuable or valueless, regardless of whether those definitions were true or not, in the sense that they were linked to the truth that is always true. All that has now been left behind. That mechanism of discernment resided in the separated mind. Now your guide is your heart. No longer will you decide on the basis of good or evil, but on the basis of what extends happiness or what extends suffering. This new way of discerning is only possible for those who have reached the state of fullness of heart, in which love and reason are united. |
