| BkVII:16.III.11 | What is subject to the laws of time is not being, but the personality and the physical body. That they change is not a problem. Your physiognomy changes as the hours go by, but life does not change. The only problem, which has been corrected, was the belief that you were the personality and body. If you think you are your personality instead of understanding it simply to be a reflection in form, you confuse things. You have abandoned that confusion. Having set aside your misidentification with the ego-body, you begin to realize that you can have a self, that you need to have a self, but that it need not hinder your happiness. |
